Community Speedwatch

Community Speedwatch (CSW) is a locally driven initiative where active members of the community, with the support of the police, monitor speeds of vehicles at specific locations using approved speed detection devices. The organisation coordinates responses based on the collated data from all groups involved. Speeding is not just a local phenomenon - and neither is Speedwatch.

We have a great team of volunteers that over the past 8 years have given their time in and around the village educating drivers to help make our roads a safer place. All of the main roads in and out of the village are 30mph limits, but we see speeds in excess of 60+mph. This puts the lives of all our community at risk.

Over the 8 years we have recorded more than 16,800 Vehicle Registration Numbers (VRN's)
