21/07/2017 - Learn Through Play Preschool

"Learn Through Play Preschool is committed to providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children ages 2 to 4 where they can learn through play. We offer high quality, affordable childcare with rates of 1 adult to 4 children.

Our OFSTED inspection March 2017 resulted in a 'GOOD' outcome, reflecting on the dedication and support offered by the staff.

We had our annual outing to Godstone Farm to see all the farm animals and their babies, on Tuesday 4th July. The weather was exceptional, which helped to make it a fun and fantastic day out for children, parents and staff!

We ended our year with a Family Picnic and presentation of certificates to the 'leavers' on Friday 14th July. A fun afternoon was had by all who attended but also tinged with a bit of sadness as we had to say 'Good Bye' to the children starting primary school in September. We wish them all the very best for the future and they will be missed.

We have themes throughout the school year and Autumn is shaping up to be very interesting. We shall start with a settling in couple of weeks to allow new children to adjust to our timetable and then move onto Harvest celebrations. After that we shall spend a few weeks on nursery rhymes before celebrating Diwali, the festival of lights. The last part of the term will be spent on The Hungry Caterpillar.

September not only brings new children but also an exciting new venture as the school prepares to open for 30 hours per week in conjunction with the new Government Guidelines. Unfortunately, due to delays in refurbishments to the Centenary Hall, we will not have our own room until Sept 2018. However the Parish Council have kindly agreed to the Pre-School having exclusive use of the Margaret Paveley Room, we currently operate from. Having our own area will allow us expand our projects and aims so we can meet the needs of our local families and, as demand grows, look forward to meeting it with more schemes such as holiday day care and longer opening hours.

We have a few vacancies for September as some of the older children move up to primary school. For further information please do not hesitate to contact Maria McDermott on 07845 450 676 anytime, including holidays. Alternatively information packs can be picked up from the Council office at the Centenary hall during office hours."
